After about two months of cold weather and snow we finally have a few days of warmer weather. We will probably all have spring fever! Of course, there is still around six weeks of winter but we are over half way there.
We are already sowing several things in the greenhouse and hope to have plants and some early vegetables for you soon.
Most of you have probably seen the news about the beef in tacos being only about 35% beef and the rest fillers. We also found an article about artificial blueberries in breads, cereals, muffins, etc. These are found in some of the major brand products. The ‘look alikes’ are made from a concoction of sugars, artificial flavors, and food coloring. You can’t always tell if they are in a product from looking at the label because some have both real and artificial ‘blueberries’ in them.
We like ‘real’ food. Good quality food cost more. And who really wants to eat something that only imitates food…at any price?
Since we are in the farming business, we grow almost everything we eat. And we utilize it closest to its natural form. In fact, the products we sell are the same products we use so we have a built in quality control.
Since the weather is supposed to be nice we are planning to be at the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market on Saturday (29th) from 10:00 until 3:00.
We have all cuts of grass-fed Jersey beef and pasture raised chicken. Also, there will be several dozen free range farm eggs, again, in mostly extra-large and Jumbo sizes.
We hope you will get out and enjoy the warmer weather and come see us at the farmers market.
