Hello Sunshine!

It sure is good to see the sunshine after several days of cloudy skies. The recent rains have made the fall greens grow like crazy and we have them ready for you. We have lots of hay to mow but need a couple days of sun to dry the ground.

Plenty of rain and lower temperatures have made the greens luscious and tender. We have turnip greens, turnip roots, curly mustard, mustard spinach, red kale, boc choi, arugula, leaf lettuce, Jericho romaine lettuce, and Swiss chard.

We still have heirloom field peas and heirloom calico crowder peas. They will probably last another week or so.

Our experiment with organic chicken feed from Reedy Fork Farm was a disappointment. The meat chickens did not grow well and egg production dropped way down. So we will not be using that feed any more.

We have only whole pasture raised chickens. These are the ones we fed the organic feed and are about half the size they are supposed to be. If you like small chickens, we have them. The next flock should be larger and will be ready in two to three weeks.

Our free range pasture farm egg production is going strong so we have a good supply of fresh eggs.

We are low on some cuts of USDA grass fed Jersey beef but have plenty of ground beef, short ribs, and several kinds of steak. We will be resupplied with all cuts next week.
